In the summer of 2007, Trinity United Church (Smooth Rock Falls) closed its doors due to a lack of parishioners.

In the fall of 2007, the Board of Trinity United Church donated their former church to the Smooth Rock Falls Community/Economical Development Corporation.

In addition to the building, the Board also donated $30,000 to the C.D.C. for operating costs.

The C.D.C. offered the Smooth Rock Falls Historical Society the use of the building, cost free, in which to house a museum.

We recognize the generosity of the Board of Trinity United Church.

We also thank the C.D.C. for allowing us the use of this space in which to house our museum.

Our community has benefited greatly from the Board’s donation and the ongoing efforts of the C.D.C.

À l'été 2007, l’église Trinity United (Smooth Rock Falls) a fermé ses portes en raison d'un manque de paroissiens.

À l'automne 2007, le Conseil d'administration de l’église Trinity United a fait don de leur église à la Corporation du développement communautaire et économique de Smooth Rock Falls.

En plus de l'édifice, le Conseil a également donné 30 000 $ à la C.D.C. pour couvrir les frais d’entretien.

Par la suite, la C.D.C. a offert à la Société historique de Smooth Rock Falls d’utiliser ce bâtiment pour en faire un musée.

Nous apprécions la générosité du Conseil d'administration de l’église Trinity United.

Nous remercions également la C.D.C. de nous avoir permis d’employer cet espace pour notre musée.

Notre communauté a beaucoup bénéficié du don du Conseil de l’église et de l’appui continu de la Corporation du développement communautaire.

To promote a strong sense of pride in our community through knowledge of our past.
To inform the public about our history, our origins and heritage.

To research, collect, preserve and exhibit artefacts and memorabilia relating to the history and culture of Smooth Rock Falls and area, from its earliest beginnings to the present.

To provide a lasting tribute to our pioneers for their courage and perseverance for the roles they played in the foundation of our town.
